The Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) is proud to announce its recent recognition at the 2025 NC One Water Awards, where the utility earned two of the highest distinctions: Water Distribution System of the Year – Overall Winner and Wastewater Collections System of the Year – Large System Award. These awards highlight PWC’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable water and wastewater services to the greater Fayetteville community.

PWC’s Water Distribution System received recognition for delivering water to over 225,000 residents with the Water Distribution System of the Year – Overall Winner Award.  The award highlights PWC’s investments in infrastructure, strict maintenance, and new technologies that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction. The award honors municipalities that exceed standards to protect public health.

PWC was recognized for its effective management of a large wastewater collection network by receiving the Wastewater Collections System of the Year – Large System Award. The award highlights PWC’s proactive environmental practices, regulatory compliance, and ability to address challenges protecting public health and the environment. It honors systems that minimize health risks and property damage through outstanding infrastructure maintenance and professionalism.
